I write adult mysteries and young adult fiction. As a city girl from the Lone Star State, I own both go-go boots and cowboy boots. I’ve been to Broadway shows and rodeos. I enjoy filet mignon and rattlesnake sausage. I like Led Zeppelin and Rascal Flatts. I like my man in a suit and in boots–sometimes worn together.
I blog about things I’ve learned in the labyrinth of life on Scarlet Thread Sundays and about the wonders of language on Amazing Words Wednesdays.
I love words, lyrics, accents, sarcasm, idioms, proverbs, and all things language–even punctuation and grammar. My previous jobs have included paralegal work, children’s ministry, and one very poor summer as a highly ungraceful waitress. I live with my supportive husband and two engaging sons in Friendswood, Texas.
My young adult short story COLOR ME HAPPY was published in ORANGE KAREN: A TRIBUTE TO A WARRIOR in April 2013. I am currently seeking representation for my young adult novels: A YEAR OF FIRSTS (middle grade contemporary); SHARING HUNTER (YA contemporary); and GOOD & GUILTY (YA mystery). I am planning to self-publish my mystery, GRACE & FIRE, with two expected sequels in the works.
Thanks for visiting my blog!

I saw that here you’ve written about the book ‘Toponymity’ which seems to be perfect for my diploma paper. I was looking for this book everywhere, but unfortunately I cannot buy it here in Poland. Hello fellow Texan. Writing, although still learning more everyday, and cooking are things I enjoy. I really look forward to reading your blog.
